During the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu wore Look 50 from Saint Laurent’s Women’s Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2026 collection, designed by Anthony Vaccarello. Originally presented on model Anok Yai during the Paris runway show, the look quickly became one of the most talked-about pieces of the season for its dramatic silhouette and cinematic sense of movement.

The design reinterprets boho-chic and historical romanticism through Vaccarello’s distinctly modern lens. Constructed with an oversized babydoll silhouette, the dress features exaggerated volume, a raised waistline and layered ruffles that create a sculptural, almost floating effect. Crafted from lightweight nylon and silk, the fabric moves with remarkable fluidity, bringing softness and theatricality to the look.

Key details — including the gathered high collar and voluminous puffed sleeves — reference Yves Saint Laurent’s legendary “Opéra – Ballets Russes” collection from 1976, one of the most influential moments in the house’s history. The rich royal purple shade, bordering on deep plum, also emerged as one of the defining colour statements of the Spring/Summer 2026 presentation.
At Cannes, the look translated seamlessly from runway to red carpet, balancing archival inspiration with contemporary elegance in a way that has become central to Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent.
